On October 31, 2017, JNTO (Japan National Tourism Organization) has announced the Japanese cities ranking 2016 by number of international conventions hosted in each city.

According to the survey conducted by JNTO, a total of 3,121 international conventions was held around the country in 2016.

Fukuoka hosted 383 conventions, which increased by 20 from the previous year and ranked second after Tokyo for the past 8 consecutive years.

It's striking that  The 99th Lions Clubs International Convention Fukuoka has the most Foreign participants in 2016.

Fukuoka City has been designated as the Global MICE Strategic City (now called as Global MICE City) by Japan Tourism Agency (JTA) since 2013.

We aim to bring more International conventions and meetings to the city in collaboration with JTA and JNTO, in addition to the regional partnership with local universities and MICE facilities.
