Enjoy Lots of Flowers at “Uminonakamichi Flower Picnic”! 2017.03.25 〜 2017.05.07
Uminonakamichi Seaside Park’s annual spring event called “Uminonakamichi Flower Picnic” in which you can enjoy a lot of flowers to the fullest is now open and attracting favorable comments. (Saturday, March 25 – Sunday, May 7, 2017)
This will be the 30th Flower Picnic and this year a new flowerbed will be added and a variety of special events are coming. You are going to love gourmet foods of catering cars in “Yatai Mura” (food stall village); opens on weekends and holidays in the event period, and “Uminaka Marché”; opens on April 15 and 16 where you can purchase sea food gourmet.

◆ Hakata-ori Pattern Flowerbed New!
This Hakata-ori textile pattern, traditional craft of Hakata, is newly set up to mark the 30th time! The pattern is represented by using vivid spring flowers including Livingstone daisy. You can see the panoramic view of the flowerbed from Sky Shelter.

◆ Sea of Baby Blue Eyes
Superb Spring View! 1,500,000 plants of lazuline Baby blue eyes create the scenery of “the sea” stretching all around.
The Best Time to View: Mid April – Early May
◆ 200,000 Plants of Flowers Like Spring Color Pallet
110,000 plants of 75 varieties of Tulips and 90,000 plants of dark blue Muscari create a popular colorful flowerbed.
The Best Time to View: Early March – Mid April
◆ Spring Color Walkway
Let’s walk in the flowerbed of yellowish Iceland poppy and mixed color Lupine.
The Best Time to View: Early April – Early May
There will be packed with lots of events in which whole family can enjoy!
“Pony-ride Experience” and “Petting Zoo” that you can interact with animals will be coming mainly on weekends during the period.
A lot of events including popular characters’ shows and craft making events that whole family can enjoy will also be held!

*Everybody is free of charge to enter the park on Sunday, April 9
*Children up to Junior high school students are admission free on Friday (holiday), May 5.
◆ Venue : Uminonakamichi Seaside Park (18-25, Oaza Saitozaki, Higashi-ku, Fukuoka)
◆ Access :
By Train: Adjacent from Uminonakamichi station of JR Kashii line.
By Ferry: Take municipal ferry from Bayside Place to Saitozaki Tosenjo (ferry terminal) and 8 minutes walk to the park. Or, take Uminaka line (jet ferry liner) from Momochi (Marizon) to Uminonakamichi Tosenjo (ferry terminal)and 5 minutes walk to the park.
*UMINAKA Line (high-speed boat): ride on from Marizon (Momochi) or Bayside Place to Uminonakamichi Ferry, then 5-minute walk. * Restart the operation from April 12.
By Bus: Get off at Marine World stop of Nishitetsu bus and walk 3 minutes.
Parking: 3100 cars
